Sylvan Lake in the Black Hills, SD
My old stomping grounds is the Black Hills of South Dakota, and yes, I miss it desperately. One of my very most favorite soaps is one I made to remind me of home. It’s got pine and lavender essential oils and if you close your eyes and hold it to your nose, you might just end up at Slyvan Lake.

We’re a tiny South Dakota business. Next month will mark year 3 for Irish Twins Soap Company. It has been such a great experience. One of the things that I am most grateful for, besides being able to work from my home studio and work with my beloved sister….is all of the people that I have met and befriended.
So many young entrepreneurs, farmers, food activists, restraunt owners, winery owners, magazine publishers, bloggers, designers, shop owners, grocery store managers, writers, teachers, artists, moms and dads, and lots of wee ones. 🙂
I am grateful for the encouragement, the lessons, the sharing, the helping hands, the support and confidence that I have been shown. I am blesssed beyond measure – and I am extremely grateful. A heartfelt thank you you all.
If you haven’t seen my facebook post today, I awoke to a suprise in my inbox – a national blogger, K Young, from CarsFoodTravel.com had mentioned our company in their post. CarsTravelFood.com is a travel blog which celebrates travel within the US to support our economy and support US businesses and Made in U.S. products. They are spotlighting South Dakota now. The article features several South Dakota businesses. Congratulations to them. I’m proud to be in such fine company.
