Toxic Watch…

One of the reasons I started making my own products is that there are so many toxic ingredients in so many products. These ingredients are included in products because they may be used as a preservatives, colors, fragrances, or because they are inexpensive.  Big industry focus is on dollars, not your health.    I am posting a link to an article that outlines often-used ingredients and why they are harmful.

The products that we make in our kitchen studios are made with the finest all natural ingredients we can find.  We’re aware of the “bad” stuff and avoid it ALWAYS.

Toxic Alert!

Knowledge = ability to make good choices.   I will be writing a series of blog posts on toxic ingredients.  Never take it for granted that if a product is available on the market that it is good for you.   Many products are made with  ingredients because they are economical or that they produce an artificial color, smell, or lather; not bassed on what is good for you or the environment.  These posts will be brief, but will give you an idea about what to look for and avoid.
Look for this ingredient and BAN it from the products you purchase and use.  It DOES make a difference.

SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE

.Toxic Alert!

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), is a foaming agent that is used in 90% of commercial personal care products. These products include toothpaste, shampoo and conditioners, and body washes.
However, SLS is so strong it is also used in car washes, garage floor cleaners and engine degreasers. The M.S.D.S, a government body, classifies SLS as a severe skin …irritant. In tests, animals exposed to SLS experience eye damage, central nervous system depression, laboured breathing, diarrhoea, severe skin irritation, and even death. Read ingredients and know what’s in the products you use. Choose ingredients that are Good for You. and Good for the Earth
