An Update! New Products!

This girl hardly gets to blog anymore! We’re having a busy summer…making products, stocking shelves, attending shows and farmer’s markets, and of course….baseball!  So here’s an update on the latest…

And again…a humble and heartfelt thank you for your patronage.  We love what we do and are so grateful for your support!

We’ve got some new products that we’re excited to introduce.  We have been invited to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally this year and have developed some new soaps for our biker friends…and of course, all of our customers.  A little black and orange {Harley Davidson colors} seems fitting, so…we added two soaps to our lineup with Activated Charcoal.  Here is a brief description of our newest….

BadAss Biker Soap:  This soap is a specialty soap with all the goodness of Activated Charcoal.  Here’s why we love it:  One of the most impressive attributes of activated charcoal is its ability to adsorb (not absorb), which means it actually attracts other substances to its surface and holds it there. As that translates to soap, those other substances are impurities found on your skin! Although it is difficult to imagine, it is said that one teaspoon of activated charcoal has the surface area of 10,000 square feet! That, plus its ability to *draw* impurities to itself, makes this a super cleansing bar of soap!   This soap scented with Anise and Peppermint essential oils.

WARNING: {I guess this is the “BadAss” part….}  Rinse well, activated charcoal may stain.  Use old towels, etc. A soak in baking soda and vinegar should take out any staining.  Buy it here!

Our Dakota Gunsmoke is similar, only it’s scented with Peppermint and Lavender essential oils.  Buy it here!

Both are available through our website, etc.  If you are out at the Rally this year, come find us – we’re on Main Street, in the large SD Made tent, by the Sturgis Harley Davidson.  Woot!!!

BadAss Biker & Dakota Gunsmoke

and for our orange soap, Sunshine Citrus:

Sunshine Citrus is a delightful rustic soap made with Sweet Orange essential oil.  It’s fresh and invigorating with an uplifting aroma.  Orange essential oil is anti-depressant, anti-septic, and anti-inflammatory.  It promotes the production of collagen and increases blood flow to the skin. It’s helpful for soothing dry, irritated, or acne-prone skin.  Buy it here!

We also have a new soap: Anise & Lavender, made with Anise & Lavender essential oils.  It’s aroma is fresh and it’s moisturizing, calming and refreshing.  Word has it that Anise essential oil masks the human scent and fisherman have been using it for that reason.   Give it a try and let me know.  Buy it here!

Local Love!

We’re a tiny South Dakota business. Next month will mark year 3 for Irish Twins Soap Company.  It has been such a great experience.  One of the things that I am most grateful for, besides being able to work from my home studio and work with my beloved sister….is all of the people that I have met and befriended.

So many young entrepreneurs, farmers, food activists, restraunt owners, winery owners, magazine publishers, bloggers, designers, shop owners, grocery store managers, writers, teachers,  artists, moms and dads, and lots of wee ones. 🙂

I am grateful for the encouragement, the lessons, the sharing, the helping hands, the support and confidence that I have been shown.  I am blesssed beyond measure – and I am extremely grateful.  A heartfelt thank you you all.

If you haven’t seen my facebook post today, I awoke to a suprise in my inbox – a national blogger, K Young, from had mentioned our company in their post. is a travel blog which celebrates travel within the US to support our economy and support US businesses and Made in U.S. products. They are spotlighting South Dakota now.  The article features several South Dakota businesses.  Congratulations to them.  I’m proud to be in such fine company.

Erin Go Braugh!

Spring IS my FAVORITE time of year…a renewal of LIFE!  We’re breathing deep, basking in the glorious sunshine, watching the baby squirrels and bunnies, listening for the birds, and digging in the dirt.  It’s a time for celebrating all things GREEN!  and in our case…Irish!

We were featured in the March issue of the Irish Gazette – I’m pasting a copy of the article here.
