One of my FAVORITE things…Go Treat Yourself!

Sanaa's 8th Street Gourmet

Downtown Sioux Falls at 8th and Railroad

This past Saturday I was lucky enough to go on a lunch date with my husband.  He took me to one of my favorite places…Sanaa’s 8th Street Gourmet Restraunt.

We enjoyed the 10-course buffet with breads, soup, meatballs, salads, hummos, olive tapanade, and several other gourmet dishes with eggplant and chicken.  If you haven’t been, and you are a food lover, this is the place for you.  I’m all about community, clean eating, green principles and doing what you love which is why I love everything about this place…

The Mediterranean menu is healthy, and fresh and delicious.  Everything on the menu is cooked daily from scratch with local seasonal ingredients and fresh ground spices.  There are meat entrees, and lots of choices for vegans, vegetarians and gluten-free choices.  And…of course, desert.

Warm ambiance with bright colors, beautiful artwork, sunshine and good company.

Three kinds of breads.

Fresh Salads. The tabouli is my favorite, I would walk barefoot from Beresford to get it. It’s THAT fresh!

Delicious Entrees, Saffron Rice, Meatballs, Potato Artichoke Stew, Eggplant, a Chicken Dish, Vegetable and Bean Soup

I didn’t snap a pic of the deserts, but they were plentiful and delicious.  I had a peice of the most heavenly baklava.

The owner of Sanaa’s is Sanaa Abourezk.   She has a passion for food, and cooking and teaching.  You can feel it in her kind and warm hospitality and you can taste it in her food.

She is also passionate about her community and sharing her love of cooking. Sanaa has a degree in Agricultural Engineeering and a Master’s in Nutrition and she has trained at LeCordon Bleu in Paris and with a Master Chef in Italy.  She has published three cookbooks, a blog and recipes/instructional videos on her YouTube channel.  She is eager to share her knowledge of nutrition, healthy eating, cooking, vegatarian/vegan diets, food allergies and sensitivities.  She also has fundraising dinners periodically at her restaurant to fund the local food bank.

Visit this place for a healthy dose of feel-good, healthy and delicious food.  Oh, and their  hospitality is unmatched, I just bet you leave with a new freind and a new favorite place.

All natural Shampoo Bars

Shampoo Bars (Rosemary-Mint)

We love these shampoo bars because of their creamy lather and natural ingredients.  They are easy to use and nourish your skin and scalp with olive oil, coconut oil, avacado oil, shae and cocoa butters and beeswax.  They double as body and shaving soap too, which makes them ideal for travel, camping, roadtrips and trips to the gym.
I use a apple-cider vinegar rinse with this shampoo bar.  Three parts water to 1 part apple cider vinegar.
This batch are smaller bars are priced at $5.25.

Rosemary Mint NannyGoat Soap

Made with goat’s milk, this soothing skin-loving soap is extra moisturizing.  Crisp and clean smelling with rosemary, mint and tea tree essential oils.

Old Fashioned Pine Tar Soap

Way back in the 1800’s pine tar was used in soaps for it’s soothing and medicinal properties.  Our pine tar soap is made with this same old-fashioned ingredient.
For generations, Pine tar soap has been deemed wonderful for cleaning, moisturizing and deodorizing.  It has been helpful for treating the scales of Psoriasis, Dandruff, Eczema, Rosacea, Acne, Poison Oak and other skin irritations like insect bites, hives, seborrhea and contact dermatitis**.  A beautiful rich brown soap, nice lather and the distinctive scent of pine tar.  Our version has lavender essential oil, for it’s fragrance and therapeutic properties.
In this batch of soap, the bars are smaller than our regular bars and are priced at $5.25.
Directions: apply to face/body and rinse.  Avoid contact with eyes. 100% biodegradable.
