Erin Go Braugh!

Spring IS my FAVORITE time of year…a renewal of LIFE!  We’re breathing deep, basking in the glorious sunshine, watching the baby squirrels and bunnies, listening for the birds, and digging in the dirt.  It’s a time for celebrating all things GREEN!  and in our case…Irish!

We were featured in the March issue of the Irish Gazette – I’m pasting a copy of the article here.

Toxic Watch…

One of the reasons I started making my own products is that there are so many toxic ingredients in so many products. These ingredients are included in products because they may be used as a preservatives, colors, fragrances, or because they are inexpensive.  Big industry focus is on dollars, not your health.    I am posting a link to an article that outlines often-used ingredients and why they are harmful.

The products that we make in our kitchen studios are made with the finest all natural ingredients we can find.  We’re aware of the “bad” stuff and avoid it ALWAYS.

All Natural Fresh Fruit & Veggie Wash

Eat FRESH!

We like all-natural – everything.  I use a simple wash for our fruit and veggies.  It is important to clean the dirt and bacteria when you bring produce home.  The following recipe is for an All Natural Fruit & Veggie wash.

Homemade Fruit and Veggie Wash

1 cup Water

1 cup Vinegar

2 Tbsp Baking Soda

Juice of 1 Lemon (2-3 Tbsp)

Mix water and vinegar in a large bowl. Add baking soda.  Baking soda will react with the vinegar creating lots of cleansing bubbles. Stir in lemon juice and add mixture to a spray bottle.

Rinse fruits or veggies with water and then spray well with your homemade wash. Allow the produce to sit for a few minutes and then rinse again with water. This amount will last 2-3 weeks, depending on how much produce used.

In a pinch and have no lemons? Simply spray produce with 1 part water and 1 part vinegar or use lemon juice from a jar.
